An effective website that covered the investment in the project within the first month after going into production.
Modernization of the agency's existing website with a focus on portfolio and content manageability. Users see projects in a structured view, can drill into details, read the description, the agency's role, and the results. The agency team received a back office where they create and edit case studies, and also assemble landing and content pages from ready-made blocks.
A French digital agency that needed the website as a sales tool: to showcase the portfolio, explain competencies, remove doubts, and drive visitors to a contact request. The old site made it hard to properly present projects, and any updates required technical work, so case studies grew stale and the site did little to bring in clients.
A distinctive portfolio
The site needed to make a unique impression on clients through a section of structured projects. Filters, detail pages, and the ability to update regularly were among the standard requirements.
Control over content
The agency team had to be able to assemble pages and edit case studies on their own, without special training.
Layout flexibility
The content builder had to give freedom in rearranging blocks while preserving the style and quality of presentation.
Speed and stability
Adding a portfolio and a builder should not make the site heavy or slow.
We used Directus as the back-office foundation and built a custom content builder on top of semantic blocks. The portfolio had to be a structured entity with managed fields. On the frontend, we implemented the new capabilities in a way that kept the site fast and clean, with content updated by the client's team.
Portfolio with managed project pages
We designed a structure that starts with a project list, then a project page, and then fields for description, role, technologies, media, and results. We made it possible to maintain case studies as living content.
Content builder in Directus on semantic blocks
We developed a set of blocks (Hero, text + media, quote, gallery, benefits list, CTA, and so on) that the editor can add, configure, and rearrange. The blocks include constraints and fields that preserve design integrity.
Design rules for every block
We built each block in line with the agency's style — with spacing, typography, media behavior, and responsive behavior. This ensured consistent page quality no matter who assembled them.
Back office for the team's daily work
We set up access roles, collection structure, media library, and publication statuses. The team works in a single interface and does not need technical involvement for content changes.
Frontend integration without losing speed
We connected content through an API and optimized loading of media and critical sections so that the additional functionality would not weigh down performance.
We started by breaking down the company's sales process. After that we already understood which questions come up during the first call, what people need to see before contacting, and the specific advantages of this agency. On that basis we assembled a "case-study canon" with mandatory sections, a list of attributes for the initial project catalog, the fields that must be filled in, and the things that get in the way.
We built a website that proved its effectiveness by generating profit for its owners.
